2023-05-27 newsletter

Greetings to the residents of Sanibel and Captiva from 12 Seasons
Farm,

This will be our final week at McCarthy’s Marina this coming Tuesday
from 9 to 11am, May 30. We are so pleased with how the market worked out
this season. Thank you to Wendy Childers and Melissa Laidlaw and others
who were proactive in encouraging us early on and helping us find a
location where we could meet up with the residents of Sanibel and
Captiva. We wanted to get back to the island after the storm serving the
customers we have been serving for the past many years. There are a
corps group of you that have been so loyal and affirming. Thank you!
Thank you!

The Captiva Farmers’ Market run by Local Roots, as in previous
seasons, is scheduled to return to Captiva next season, each Tuesday
beginning Dec. 19.

In the meantime, we plan to be at the Lakes Park Farmers’ Mkt. in Ft.
Myers on Wednesdays (9am-1pm) for the short run, at least for the next 2
weeks or all of June. We will set up preordering for Lakes Park. We will
also have a market beginning at our farm on Saturdays for those that
want to make the long trek. We are still trying to figure out a
potential delivery schedule for Sanibel and Captiva for the month of
June. We should know more next week.

We want to again express our thanks to Captain Bob and Jenny Rando
with Captiva Cruises for allowing us to be at the marina this season! If
you see them or if you wouldn’t mind taking a moment, please express
thanks to them for the generous use of the marina parking lot. They did
not charge us a fee. We simply provided them with a weekly box of
delicious produce, for which they seemed happy to receive!

If you would like to place an order for this Tuesday pick up
at McCarthy’s Marina, please do so before 8 pm Sunday at

This week our staff has thinned out even more. Grace and Emily and
the Small Family have gone back up north to Maine for the summer. We had
a going away party in the honey house which is still under construction
from all the flooding.

Good-byes are hard. There were a lot of tears shed on Friday. Grace
became a dear friend to Isabella and Annika. Grace would have a book
night once a week and read to the children.

This is a sign I put up at the Bonita farmers’ market today. Today
was the last Bonita market of the season.

Here is a photo from one of the first Captiva markets. Annika grew up
a lot this season. I had to throw a money bag on her early on during a
very crowded market and you all were patient with her. I will remember
this time in my daughter’s life where you helped her step up to the
plate and do well! Thank you! She wants to be there for the last market
to say goodbye.

So many of you have already gone north or will be away for this last
market. Thanks for a wonderful season. It truly was a pleasure to serve
you. We hope you are having a wonderful summer and we look forward to
serving you again.

For the few that remain we hope to see you this Tuesday!!

All the best.

Danny, Vicki, the kids, and the 12 Seasons Team
