Greetings from the farm,

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year and this will be a
special one as we celebrate and give thanks for the resurgence of life
on the farm, for family, true friendships, and the overwhelming
kindness, generosity, and support we have received in the wake of
Hurricane Ian. We are truly blessed beyond measure!

This week home deliveries will be on Wednesday due to the
Thanksgiving Holiday. Please order by Monday night if you would like to
receive a Wednesday home delivery.

We will continue farm pick ups on Saturday. Please order by Thursday
at 8 pm.

To summarize this week’s schedule:

WEDNESDAY HOME DELIVERIES : Please place an order
online before tonight, Monday, by8 pm, if you want home delivery for
Wednesday.

SATURDAY FARM PICK UP : Please place an order by
Thursday, 8 pm for a Saturday, Nov. 26, farm pick up between 9 am and
Noon.

The address for picking up orders is the old farm entrance at 14840
Old Olga Rd. If 9 am to noon is not suitable, please contact me with a

This is what we are harvesting:

• Summercrisp Lettuce

• Arugula

• Curly kale

• Flat kale

• Cucumbers

• Zucchini

• Round radish

• Daikon radish

• Dill

• Cilantro

• Pummelo

• Grapefruit

• Navel Oranges

• Saw Palmetto Honey

Thanks to such a great team, the farm infrastructure is improving
daily. We are working our way through the multiple structures on the
farm– greenhouses, sheds, the community house, and all the flooded
dwellings. It is a slow process of cleaning and rebuilding but the
progress is very tangible. The bamboo hedgerows and orchard trees are
recovering well and we are getting closer to having our vegetable
plantings caught up on the farm.

Here in this photo, I was giving a tour to friends showing the high
water level from the floodwaters during Hurricane Ian. To see how far
the farm has come after having so much wind and water damage is
amazing.

Round 2 tomatoes are coming. We have several of these bamboo houses
that were quickly replanted after the storm. They had been planted in
early September and were starting to set fruit when the storm happened.
Thankfully these houses were completely stripped of netting and plastic
so suffered very little damage except for the loss of round 1 tomatoes.
We are hoping for cherry tomatoes in early to mid-December.

Two friends, Luke Dallmann and Jason Weigner, visited the farm last
week. Luke use to work for us with his wife Marcie and is currently a
peach specialist at Clemson University. Luke helped us in our orchard
after the hurricane staking the fallen mango trees. Jason together with
his family lives and works in agriculture in Bolivia.

We are pleased to have the Mashburn Family with us. Today was James
Mashburn 33rd birthday (far left in photo). On right is his wife Kelly
(in red shirt on far right) making sourdough pancakes on the grill this
morning for everyone to celebrate. They are a beautiful family with 3
girls, a boy, and one soon on the way. We are grateful for their
presence and contributions on the farm. James is an airline pilot and on
off days has been helping paint and do the finish work on the house to
get us moved in while Kelly works on the farm harvesting and packing
orders.

This is their son Hudson with Rusty, their family dog.

We have moved back into our house!! The kids are back in their room
with new flooring, drywall, and fresh paint! We have had an incredible
amount of help to get our farm and homes back into shape. We still have
a ways to go, but the trajectory continues to be good.

We can’t thank you all enough for your generosity, kindness and
support.

We hope your Thanksgiving holiday is full of goodness, joy, and
gratitude!!
