The slow wind down of the season is nearing the end. This is the last
week for home deliveries. We still have a farmers’ market scheduled for
this Saturday and next. Our address is:

customer notes if something is out-of-stock.

delivery to Bonita Springs, Naples, Ft. Myers Beach, Ft. Myers, N. Ft.
Myers, and Cape Coral. THIS IS THE LAST SCHEDULED DELIVERY FOR
THIS SEASON.

Saturday: 12 Seasons Farmer’s Market at
14820 Old Olga Rd., Ft. Myers, FL 33905 (8am-noon). You may also select
a preorder option each week (by Thursday 8 pm) and pick up your prepared
orders at the farm market.

Tuesday : Thank you Sanibel and Captiva customers
for a great season. After today there are no more scheduled deliveries
to Sanibel ** and Captiva.**

A church high school youth group from Indiana volunteered one morning
on the farm and accomplished an amazing amount of work for us. We were
super blessed by their hard and excellent work. They were volunteering
at ECHO for the week and the leader, John, with whom I am friends
contacted me and said he had one morning he would like to bring the
youth over to work on our farm. What a pleasure to see such pleasant,
hard-working folks.

Last Wednesday, we had a good celebration and farewell party for Cate
and Emma. There was around 25 of us sharing memories and affirming words
as they both go forward.

Cate left Saturday shortly after market, but not before several
farewells and getting a couple gifts from customers and friends Paula
and Wendy Fairfield– a very appropriate shirt for Cate!

Here is Vicki at Saturday’s market. Diversity has definitely slimmed
down but still pleased to have this much late in the season.

I am impressed that we still have sprouting broccoli this late into
June. This was yesterday’s harvest. This shows the merits of certain
cultivars over others. The typical crown broccoli varieties generally
perform miserably in this kind of heat, whereas this specific variety of
sprouted broccoli performs very well.

The kids found a ripening bunch of bananas that I harvested midway
through Saturday’s market. Lately, we haven’t had much banana
production, but summer months the production usually picks up. We plan
to plant a lot more bananas this off-season.

This was Father’s Day. What a gift to have these 4 beautiful
children! A great friend once told me while living in Germany after we
had just finished a meal at an old mountain-top castle… that many men
liken wealth to material gain and stature but die poor because they miss
the true riches in life. I remember him calling me a rich man for we
recently had Simeon. These precious ones represent true riches
indeed!
