Thursday Farm Pick-Up & Home Deliveries; Saturday Farm Pick-Up

Greetings from 12 Seasons Farm,

We have had a brilliant summer. The rains have been good. The mango crop has
been awesome. We are making good progress in many areas of the farm. The
off-season is busy and hot. Thankfully, we are blessed with a super capable
team of 4 full time and 5 part time helpers. The kids are also a big help
though they are busy with school and extracurricular activities. It is fun to
see us attend to several of the “irons in the fire” projects now that most
crops have slowed or finished.

The vegetable options are narrowing but we still have some tomatoes, onions,
peppers, arugula, kale, basil. eggplant, radish, and a few carrots still out
there. There are several options of fruit with mango, banana, starfruit,
passionfruit and papaya.

We are doing farm pick-ups on Thursday and Saturday with home deliveries on
Thursdays.

Please place your order by 8 pm Tuesday for Thursday options; and by 8 pm
Thursday for Saturday farm pick-up.

All farm pick-ups occur at the original farm entrance, 14840 Old Olga Rd.,
which is the east driveway. This is a self-serve pick-up. Remember to grab your
order both from the walk-in cooler (cold portion) and the tomato shed
(non-refrigerated).

Here is our schedule for this week:

We have plenty of mango remaining on the farm.

We have been drying papaya, banana, and mango.

Here is Kathleen helping remove and transport the finished tomato vines that
are finished.

The tomato vines get mulched under the avocado and citrus trees as shown above
under a honeybell tangelo. This contributes to greater soil fertility.

The guys are working hard mixing concrete for the greenhouse posts.

The corners are set for both greenhouses and now they are starting to put the
sidewall posts in at 4 ft apart where each post will be set in concrete. Brian
Wilson is leading the greenhouse construction and doing an amazing job for us.
He and his wife Jill have been with us since last November.

It is great having Ek and his family back at the farm. You will often find him
working with his son Mikha. What a privilege kids have to work alongside their
parents and vice versa. Farming allows for this kind of one-on-one time with
your kids and where they get brilliant training in life skills from the many
challenges and daily chores. I love it and I think they do too!

We have had a couple recent visitors to the creek. We also had an otter here.
The gator is sunning right next to the swimming hole so that puts a little
damper on creek swimming!

We had good friends– the Watkins– over this weekend and did a mango taste
test! We tasted 6 varieties. Mallika and Pickering were among the favorites of
most. For me, eating a fine mango is like partaking of some of the
choicest royal food the earth has to offer! Wherever you are abiding this
summer, I hope you are getting to enjoy the choice fruits of the land!

Good times, good food, good friends. We are blessed with a full life!

We still have produce options available for those that want to continue
to order for pick up or get a home delivery. Thank you to the remnant few that
have continued to order and to all of you for supporting us this past season.

Have a great week!

Danny, Vicki, the kids, and the 12 Seasons Team
