Greetings from 12 Seasons Farm,
Wow that was a lot of rain today!
This Tuesday will be our final Captiva market of the season! We appreciate all
of you who supported us this season and over the years at this market. Thank
you!! We plan to continue the Sanibel drop so long as there is interest with a
critical mass of folks ordering. We are grateful to Melissa Lehman for

has done a great job all season long there. Please thank her for those that
plan to go!
This will be the final time this season we plan to set up at the Captiva
Farmer’s market. The market itself continues through the end of May, but our
time finishes tomorrow. We plan to continue the Sanibel drop site location.
We are partnering with a local beekeeper to get honey from hives now at 12
Seasons Farm! It has been a long time plan– we were just waiting for the
youngest child to be able to run fast enough to at least get help if there
should ever be a problem with swarming stinging bees. It has happened at least
twice before where we had some challenges with bees. Over 15 years ago there
were hives here and while doing tractor work I accidentally hit the board the
hives were sitting on and toppled them. That was a painful experience. And then
the kids several years ago got into a wild hive on accident while climbing
trees in the forest. That was also painful and a bit terrifying for them.
While bees travel a great distance, at least the immediate location the pollen
and nectar is from 12 Seasons Farm where we practice organic farming. I am
eager to sample this honey!
We harvested and sold the first mangoes from the farm this week! We hope to
bring more in coming weeks. Lychees also coming soon!
We are drying down some of the excess onions on the farm to prepare them for
storage. Above is Kate and a worker soon to join us full time, Joel Garcia.
We are still getting great harvests of broccolini.
These sweet Vitalis pink tomatoes are producing extremely well even late into
this season.
These fluted red tomatoes are superb in taste.
I received this photo from the Monaco children who prepared some Mother’s Day
tomatoes for their mom, Sharon. Sharon and Larry have been long term customers
and it is fun to see their kids and grandkids who visit them often. Beautiful
family!
We hope you all had a good day celebrating Mother’s Day remembering especially
the special one that carried and delivered each of us into this world. We love
our mamas!
This past weekend we had the great joy of receiving a visit from Anthony and
his bride-to-be, Christina. Anthony Linderman worked 2 seasons for us and many
of you might remember him from the Bonita market last year. He is working on an
herb farm in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
We still have good diversity on the farm. We have 3 remaining markets in Bonita
before opening up a Saturday market at the farm.
Thank you for your part in a successful season.
Danny, Vicki, the kids, and the 12 Seasons Team
