Greetings from 12 Seasons Farm,
One of the highlights of the farm this week has been outstanding yields on the
tomatoes. We are so grateful to see such superb quality. It is truly some of
the best we have ever witnessed at our farm.
As a reminder we are offering eggs again. These come from a farm in Punta Gorda
where the chickens are pastured. They are given supplemental organic feed. The
eggs are unwashed and haven’t been refrigerated yet. They can be counter stored
for a couple weeks so long as they remain unwashed. They are available online
as well as at the markets.
As normal we have two Tuesday options for Sanibel and Captiva residents: 1) the
Captiva Farmer’s market where preorders can be picked up and 2) a drop site at
Melissa Lehman’s home on Tuesdays between 9 am and 3 pm. Please order by 8 pm
each Sunday and remember to use a credit card payment for the Sanibel drop
site.
For the rest of SW FL, we have Thursday farm pick up, Thursday home deliveries
and Saturday market pick up. Please place your order by 8 pm Tuesday for
Thursday options; and for Saturday market pick up, place orders by Thursday, 8
pm.
There is planned a sourdough workshop at the farm, April 22 in the
afternoon. Details below:
Tuesday, April 22nd from 3-5pm
14820 Old Olga Rd, Ft Myers Florida 33905
Come learn the easy and ancient art of using sourdough. Topics will include how

muffins and bread. Participants will all take home a jar of sourdough starter
culture. Please RSVP with Annaliese Klein at [email protected]

help them on their mission to provide healthy organic food for our
community. This event will be led by local Herbalist Annaliese Klein, A.P,
Diplomat.O.M.

Carrie and Annika at the last Captiva market. Annika has big shoes to fill as
Justine has returned back north. Justine and Mike safely returned to Canada. We
are grateful Carrie is planning to stay with us through the summer this
season!
Glorious tomato vines laden with fruit!!
We have been getting exceptional harvests lately of quality tomatoes!
What a pleasure to work with such diverse splashes of colors, fabulous flavors,
and exquisite design and beauty! Every day is a gift!
I am really proud of the boys. Our work force has drastically shrunk as our
team returns to commitments in cooler areas of US and Canada. The kids are
stepping up. Simeon trained Josiah last week on pruning, wrapping, and dropping
tomatoes. It is music to a dad to see the kids work so well together. It is a
tight schedule between school lessons, work on the farm, and extracurricular
activities of music, Irish dance, and sport lessons.
My lovely bride with such amazing tomatoes! The work of so many hands at
a high standard with crazy good genetics can result in such superb quality.
Nothing is ever a guarantee in farming, but with such great work by our team,
the results thus far have been outstanding!!!
Mulberries are in season! If you want some we can try and fill your order. We
probably have around 9 bearing trees right now. They are meticulous to pick and
do require some tree gymnastics. So I give the kids on the farm a little income
generation opportunity and they get half of the sale. They are $6/pint. Please
put in the customer notes if you want a pint or two. The kids are enthusiastic
about the opportunity to make a little money.
Simeon planted his own garden this season and got his first tomato!
Here are Michelle and Susanna making crackers from different ingredients on the
farm. Susanna’s homemade crackers are so delicious. Next season we hope to
offer a workshop on food dehydration, especially with making nutritionally
dense, absolutely scrumptious, and healthy snacks!
The Harrington boys are here for a visit from Maine. They were with us most of
last season. Lots of fun playing on the sand hill, eating mulberries, and
having adventures on the farm!
We are grateful for such wonderful customers. Thank you for all your support to
help this be a fantastic season!
Danny, Vicki, the kids, and the 12 Seasons Team
