Tuesday Captiva Farmer’s Market; Thursday Farm Pick-Up & Home Deliveries; Saturday Bonita Farmer’s Market

Greetings from 12 Seasons Farm,

We had a fun sauerkraut workshop last week and good turnouts at both markets.
Thank you to all who attended and placed orders last week.

Several of you have mentioned challenges when dealing with our website, mainly
having the shipping location be something different than intended. Here are a
few tips:

  1. Always use a local 5-digit zip code when placing an order to ensure the
appropriate shipping options appear. If you use an out of area address, for
example, you will not get delivery options. Do not include the dash and the
following 4 digits (aka Zip+4). For some reason adding the final 4 digits, will
    skew your shipping options.
  2. If you navigate away from the screen– e.g. go back to the cart to add
another item– make sure to verify the correct shipping location and that it
did not default to something unintended. This seems to be a weakness with the
    woocommerce platform.
  3. After placing an order, you should receive a confirmation email. Please
review the details, especially the shipping location and email us if something
    looks askew.

Thanks for persisting through the various nuances of this software program and
our online produce stand!

We continue to have two Tuesday options for Sanibel and Captiva residents: 1)
the Captiva Farmer’s market where preorders can be picked up and 2) a drop site
at Melissa Lehman’s home on Tuesdays between 9 am and 3 pm. Please order by 8
pm each Sunday and remember to use a credit card payment for the Sanibel drop
site.

For the rest of SW FL, we have Thursday farm pick up, Thursday home deliveries
and Saturday market pick up. Please place your order by 8 pm Tuesday for
Thursday options; and for Saturday market pick up, place orders by Thursday, 8
pm.

A glorious display of amazing fruits and vegetables at the Bonita Market
Saturday morning!

Here is a glimpse into the Sauerkraut workshop last Tuesday. People really
seemed to enjoy themselves!

On Thursday we hosted 2 different school groups for tours. Above is the
culinary high school group from Collier County at Lorenzo Walker Technical High
School in Naples. Above Justine is sharing how we handle and bunch the carrots
after they are harvested. The other tour was for a home school group which
Vicki led.

We have more papaya starting to ripen. We lost a number of plants in the storm
and they were all weakened but now finally we are getting decent harvests.

Here are two giant walls of cherry tomatoes. The fruit is coming soon. We have
been somewhat short on cherry tomatoes at the market, but the next planting is
beautiful and loaded with fruit.

These tomatoes are just about to ripen. The new north double greenhouse is
finally ready to start harvesting. It has been a lot of work to get these new
greenhouses built and prepared and planted, new trellises installed, and
tomatoes meticulously pruned and trained.

And then to see the first fruit ripen makes my heart sing! I took this photo at
the end of the workday today– a good way to end a day out on the farm. The
first fruits are always special!

Benjamin holding a giant daikon radish! This boy makes my heart glad!

As does this one! Josiah has become a very good worker on the farm. We
harvested peppers together. They are harvested 3X/week.

Here is most of the team that has been cultivating the food you enjoy from 12
Seasons Farm this season. It has been a true pleasure working with these
individuals. This talented group works hard and at a high standard. It is that
time of year when several team members head home. We will miss those who
venture on– Rose and Dave (in center of photo, Rose with khaki shirt is
standing front and left of husband Dave in blue shirt and sunglasses) and
George (left of Dave in dark blue sweat shirt with red letters). They were
amazing contributors and a great joy to have on the farm!

We continue to thank you for your faithful support. Your affirming words and
generous support definitely help offset the demands and challenges of farming
life. Our family and team thanks you!

Have a great week!

Danny, Vicki, the kids, and the 12 Seasons Team
