2022-05-31 newsletter

Greetings,

This week will be the last Farmers’ market in Bonita at Promenade
this season. We hope to see many of you there. After this Saturday, we
will open up a stand on Saturdays at our farm for the month of June.

Thank you all for a wonderful season at the markets this year. This
season overall was a success and we are grateful to very dedicated
customers!

We still have plenty of tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, lettuce,
basil, dill, parsley, Swiss chard, and daikon radishes.

While summer temperatures are here to stay, we are dealing with the
impact of the January freeze that significantly reduced our mango crop
by killing the blooms and young stem tissue. We have over 100 trees
planted but we won’t have a crop anywhere near the size of last
season.

We will continue to do home deliveries on Thursdays in SW FL and
Tuesdays for Sanibel and Captiva.

If you order online, please remember to put your requests in the
customer notes if something is out-of-stock.

The Small Family is one of the last families to head out for season
(Mom Jeanna and baby Aleena are missing in photo). They are on their way
to Idaho via Texas. There they will work at a state park. Corey is an
excellent IT guy that works remotely. Their family has been such a
blessing these past 4 seasons. He built our online store and the kids
and Jeanna do such a great job participating in a host of different farm
tasks. They are missed and we look forward to their return in the
fall.

Elisha is back for a week!! This week we are short-handed a bit since
Ek and his family and Emma and Henoc are gone in Puerto Rico this week
for a vacation. We are so grateful he is back here to help us. Elisha is
an EMT in Pennsylvania, works for a timber framer building a cabin, and
also works for his parents’ business, the Lion Potter in Gettysburg, PA.
His parents are both talented artisans making and painting beautiful
pottery and also operating a produce stand. Elisha is always a bright
presence!

One of the perks of doing deliveries with dad– getting a tasty gift
of French toast from the chefs at Sails Restaurant. Yum!

Kids making work fun at the market last Saturday. One of Josiah’s
jobs is to stack the empty pints and quarts. They got a little zealous
in their task!

Simeon loves his mom! We are proud of him. He is stepping up at
market and really contributing. Thank you for your patience and
investment in him by helping him with his math skills.

Again we thank you for a great market season. We hope you have been
nourished by the delicious and healthy produce. We hope to see a number
of you this last Saturday at Promenade before opening up the stand again
at our farm for the month of June and possibly into July!

Danny, Vicki, the kids, and the 12 Seasons Team
